Does anyone have any reviews or product knowledge on this? On most Anti Spyware comparison's or reviews I never see it listed.
Thx |

Hello
I am new to the forum and would like some help form Eric
I want to test these antispyware apps on our network, Eric can you send me all the spyware you use to run your tests so I can infect a stand alone machine and test it myself on all our different OS's and machines.
I will post back results of the apps we are testing, which I think would be very usful to the comunity
thanks
Andy |

|
|
| Does anyone know if Norton has an antispyware program available? If so, is it completely separate from the antivirus. I am researching an antispyware solution for our company and my boss has asked me about Norton which I did not include in my initial investigation. Any help or links would be most appreciated. |

|
|
I know this question must get asked a lot and did a search and lots of replies.. so sorry to ask again..
But very simply
I use Spybot to clean / protect standalone PCs and This program is great! Can not fault it for standalone....
BUT!
I need a network version have been reviewing Spysweeper but have read a couple of articles lately saying that some of the Spyware adware vendors are worried about removing some adware as the user gets the option to install or not.. Whilst that may or may not be true... I look after the systems for a number of sites and know that they do NOT require the Adware program installed.. and would like to be given the option to remove it and not let the software ignore it..
So all in all in Spy Sweeper the best option for a network .. I knwo spybot is the best i have seen for standalone.. pity he has not done a network version....YET!
Your help will be greatly appreciated. |

I like Spybot. But I would not put it into the same category as Webroot or Counterspy.
If you're looking for the "Hardest line" taken against Spyware, look at Counterspy. They have a history of taking a stand and not backing down until the vendor proves that they have cleaned up...
1. Their software
2. Install practices |

Really?
You would say webroot was better? I am just working on the number of infections found.. Spy Sweeper did not seem to find as many..
I will have a look at counterspy!
Thanks! |

wondering if any of you use or have used McAfee, i remember back in the days McAfee was one of the first big companies, im talking about in the early 90's i believe, now days, i have given McAfee a try and to be honest, i feel like my computer slows down even more, the resource meter goes way up and McAfee just installes and calles otu to much strings hogging or bottle necking the PC, am i the only one that thinks this or what? I find using AVG much simpler and takes up less resources, what do you guys think?
great post by the way _________________ my free spyware removal blog |

Personally I would stay well away from McAfee as it is a resource hog as you have found, and there is much better antivirus software around.
I wouldn't use AVG either, it's not a bad program, but the detection rates are definitely not as good as Avast which is also free and always download definition updates without any problems - which can not be said for AVG.
You can download it here: http://www.avast.com/en-au/free-antivirus-download
Just make sure you uninstall any existing antivirus software first. |
