I was browsing Majorgeeks.com.I still go there inspite of all the Tribal Fusion nonsense-Proxo anihilates that most satisfactorilly.
Anyhow,I'd always felt Major Geeks was a reasonably trustworthy source. Then I noticed this:
http://majorgeeks.com/downloads31.html
Spy Bouncer being promoted onsite. Are my brains addled or am I correct in my recollection that this is bloomin' 'orrible spyware?
Are Major Geeks best avoided? |

Cheers,NetWidow.
I'll be boycotting Major Geeks now they appear to have gone over to the darkside.
Nevermind-Shell Extension City offers an equal glut of interesting gadgets. |

Dear Sadiebee & Netwidow,
Check out the thread below about CNet's downloads of rogue spyware. I had always trusted CNet downloads until I saw Linc's post.

Interesting..thanks for that, scatamousche.Looks like being blinded by greed is a rising trend.
I tend to visit Shell Extension City daily now, lots of gems are uncovered there.

I suppose CNet and Major Geeks would argue that it's the money conned out of gullible users that finances the bandwidth in order that we are able to download so much good stuff for free....
...not something that sits well with me.Shell City links you direct to the Authors site, thus sharing the exertion of bandwith. |

Matter of fact MajorGeeks has A LOT of the rouge anti-spyware programs.
The reason I'm sure is to pay for the amount of Bandwidth they use to hold all the files they do. We all may not like it, but they have to pay for it somehow. _________________ You've Been Deleted

They also have alot of good software avalable. Maybe the person or persons responsible for keeping garbage software off the site don't know any better. I would wait till after they have been informed before judging them. _________________ Nick's Security Ticker

| I never really used Major Geeks too much to download programs, the people that hang around their forums seem pretty knowledgable though. Whenever I have a PC problem and nobody can answer me, I usually try to ask the question there too. |
