(if this is in wrong spot please move, thanks)
This only applies to users of 7-24-04 ie-spyads or agnis
this only applies to users of HOTMAIL
occours when you get a Hotmail MAIL from your favorite site that someone has input in a thread you were following and you find the link "restricted"
to fix: go to your restircte zone, select "sites"
wait for it to load
input 64.4.22.250 and remove

note to me from Eric Howes
>Hmmmm. That is odd. That IP showed up in someone's HJT log, but it looks
>like it's Hotmail. It will be removed in the next version of IE-SPYAD and
>AGNIS.

Using the 7/24/04 version of IE Spyad, Hotmail works fine for me. There's the usual Mixed Zone warning, but that is because the ad banners are from restricted sites. Hotmail functionality is not affected for me. _________________ Nick's Security Ticker

Nick if you moved this Thanks I would not have posted it there
http://spywarewarrior.com/viewtopic.php?t=4429
Hotmail privacy problem?
Hotmail worked fine for me also except when I went to a site "someones posted to your thread" type of message
they would not transfer
I see a bigger problem here
MS is tracking where you transfer from hotmail
I recently was replying to a post and when I went to "add reply"
I could not because my hotmail link ad become inactive!
"close this window to return to hotmail"
have to refresh hotmail
time to cut and past links
where could I start a thread on this??

Well, looking at the link you get when you click, it looks like your email (either your local email client or your email processed through your ISP or other host) is altering links you get in email.
The IP address would seem to be a Hotmail site (by doing a simply whois on it). The link presented appears to be some kind of click / tracking thing. It passes as a data item the actual target URL (mouse-over the link to see that the rest is passed as data), but it first sends you to that site where 'who knows' what tracking or click recording is being done.
So either Hotmail (if that is what you are using) is doing that to track usage, or perhaps there is some other spyware involved here that is altering the links in email on your system. Since it happens with site mail from here and Lavasoft messages, the common point is either your email service or your PC's email client (potentially a hijacker).
