Hi
Some days ago, here was a power outage. My laptop's battery kept my laptop running, but everything else failed, including the USB hard disk.
Windows popped this error message (translated):
| Quote: |
Windows - Delayed writing failed
Windows can not save all the data for the file F:\$Mft. The data are lost. This error may be caused by an error on the hardware or the network connection. Try to save the file somewhere else.

If "$Mft" is same as "Mft", then this is a very important file.
I did not read or write on the external hard disk at the moment the power went out, but I believe a Wordpad file from the external hard disk was loaded into RAM before the power went out.
The external hard disk is working and some files on it are still working. The rest of the files I don't know.
How critical is it when the Mft file fail to save data? Is it likely that I have a problem that has not shown itself yet? |

No reply?
I've not encountered any problems, so far it seems as no damage happened.
But I still hope someone could say something about the $Mft / Mft files. |
