Got this excited little update in one of my webmail accounts today from the provider (without naming any names - yet):

"the new Attachment Preview. Check out attachments in e-mails right away without having to open or save the attachments to your computer first. Even browsing through attachments is now faster and easier!"

"Just open your e-mail and you'll see the attachments right away! There's nothing else you have to do."

I haven't tested this yet, but I most certainly will, if only to find out if there's a way to turn this "feature" permanently OFF.

Groaaaaan !!! Do you ever feel you're flogging a dead horse ?

Here we are telling people NOT to open attachments from ANYONE (even people they know) without first checking that they sent them, and along comes some corporate numpty who thinks it's a good idea to open ALL attachments, no matter who they come from.

If I knew who it was (and I wasn't a law abiding citizen) I'd feel sorely tempted to send him (or her) a few choice infected attachments then see if he (or she) still thinks it's a good idea.
