|

Hello All,
I am having an issue with the proxy settings on one of my systems at work. It is connected to a server running SBS and we use a proxy on port 8082 to access the internet. One machine keeps graying out the option to use a proxy server under lan settings. I can go to the advanced options reset it and then choose to use the same proxy for all protocols. Then the check box is available for using a proxy server. When I go to the advanced settings the proxy is set to 127.0.0.1 and the port is set to 50370 (odd port to be using). When I reset everything it will stick for about 10 minutes. Our group policy it set to use our own proxy and no other computer is having this issue. I have already checked the machine for malware and viruses - non detected. I have also uninstalled IE7 and reinstalled it, reset IE7 to the default settings and tried to run in no add-in mode. This just started about a week ago. I have completed the following steps:
1. Ran MalwareBytes and the Windows Live Safety Center's 'Protection' scan and found 2 backdoor.bots in the system restore - removed them and rebooted
2. Disabled the system restore to remove the old restore points that were infected and rebooted.
3. Ran MalwareBytes and Windows Live Safety Center's 'Protection' scan again and found no infections.
The proxy no longer changes at will and there no longer seems to be any issues. I am wondering if there is anything else I should try.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I just posted this question in another forum and was told that I did not enter the correct information. Since I am new to Spyware Warrior I would appreciate any suggestions if I am not posting my questions properly.
Regards,
Rob |
