MBAM has updated 1/1/09 from 1.31 - 1.32. I noticed that the 'quick scan' had changed from about 5 mins on my computer to about 10 - 15 mins. I posted about this on their forum & they admitted they had had a problem. Later a lot of other people claimed to have noticed a difference, some had hang-ups as well. They (Malwarebytes) claim that the slow-down was due to a faulty definition type that they had created with 1.32 & later database updates would fix the problem. They want to vastly improve the speed for 1.33 as well. I just thought I would post this for anyone who noticed any hang-ups or slowing of their MBAM quick scan & thought they might have a problem. It seems better now anyway. Although I think it is a couple of minutes longer on average now. This may not seem like much but it can increase a 4-5 mins scan to 7-8 mins. I noticed anyway! Laughing

Today (15/1/09) MBAM has upgraded to 1.33. It has more geographically positioned download mirrors now & you don't need to have the choice of mirrors if you manually update anymore (especially the 'iffy' securitywonks mirror). It seems faster both in updating & scanning. So that's OK then, I reckon. It makes you wonder what was wrong with 1.32 though, it didn't last long!
