A little more detail about what happened. The domain name registration expired because Mike Healan is nowhere to be found and no one else could renew it because it was registered to him only. The registrar actioned it off and the bad guys were the highest bidder. Apparently they paid a very high price for the domain. Very unfortunate this happened. Some folks from the community bid for the domain, but the bad guys kept outbidding everyone.
In anticipation this might happen, due to Mike's absence, the SpywareInfo forum was moved months ago to a new domain.

Well give it a few weeks and that domain of his that was taken away will probably be on Spamhaus next as a Malware installer site, given their rogue product will be just another mess of trojan installers for Spam Sending bots. |

| I think these recent Malware issues and hackers DDoSing and Hijacking Security sites, I figure it is only a matter of time before this site might even be attacked as well as DSLReports too, besides I see a reason why Russia wants to become the next super power when it comes to the internet. |

| DSLReports gets attacked (DDoSed) every once in a while. The criminals will attack again and again; the anti-malware related forums and help sites. The battle is far from over. |

When I talked to him a couple years ago, he told me how fed up he was with everything...the corruption on both sides of the fence...all the in-fighting and back biting. Of course, all I said was "yea, been there, done that."
I still quite vividly remember when he first showed up on the scene as 'Dingo'. He wanted so badly to be a part of the then much smaller pri/sec community. But we didn't have any training programs back then and I didn't have any place to put someone without any relevant skills.
A few months later is when I caught Ahmad ripping me off with LS helping him do it...all while LS was into me for about $10k. Anyway, that was when LS put him 'Dingo/Mike' on staff and used him to fill in for my name space 'Mike'.
Soon afterwards, SI was born.
None of the ph#s or addies I've accumulated for him now work. I tried my 'last knowns' for him last year unsuccessfully after talking to cmn about the domain because I wanted to offer my hosting services. Of course, I wouldn't have even been able to change the pointers without owner access.
It's just as well that I couldn't help them. I never did believe in any pri/sec site that used sponsors who were also vendors in our industry. In fact, just before he disappeared, we had a huge argument over his continued use of Alluria as a sponsor even after they were caught with affiliates who propagated malware in order to sell the product.
So, all in all, I wasn't the least bit surprised to see him disappear. I really do hope he's found an easier life.
