Wonders if Microsoft Defender will find it,too?

According to the FAQ at their website they don't install any other software with the toolbar:
http://www.emusic.com/help/toolbar.html
Q: Are any other software programs installed along with the eMusic Toolbar?
A: No other software programs are installed with the eMusic Toolbar
Oh, except " it also puts Internet search at your fingertips."
And a pop up blocker.
Another from their FAQ:
Q: I have the Popup Blocker enabled. Why am I still getting popups?
A: Malicious third-party software, i.e. spyware, may cause unwanted ad to display on your computer. The eMusic Toolbar is unable to stop pop-ups generated by spyware programs. We recommend that you uninstall these spyware programs from your computer. Ad-Aware and Spybot Search and Destroy are popular programs that can help you do this.
In all seriousness I'd go to Microsoft about it, see if they condone it.
It just goes to show that NOTHING is free.... _________________ DYSLEXIC'S UNTIE! |

The fact is that Adware Softomate was found, and it is very disliked, especially when it comes from a program listed on Microsoft's site. |
