Hi,
I have a folder that will not delete and i would like to delete it-- i know this is a spyware forum, but i don't know where else i would go to get the expertice that is found on this website. If i'm not allowed to post this, can anyone tell me of a forum that i can post this? I have downloaded quite a bit of software which supposedly deletes these hard-to-delete folders, yet im still unable to do it!
Thanks
Adam |

Hello Adam,
Could you tell us the name and full path of the folder?
Also, what is the message you get when you try to delete it? _________________ Microsoft MVP 2003-2008, Windows - Security |

Go to your control panel. Look in Add/Remove programs. See if the program "Babylon" is listed. If so , highlight it and press *remove*.
Let me know how that comes out. _________________ Microsoft MVP 2003-2008, Windows - Security |

Let's check to see if it or anything related is running on your system, using HijackThis
Please make a new folder to put your HijackThis.exe into. Anywhere on your hard drive is fine other than your Desktop or the Temp folder. We suggest you use something like "C:\Program Files\HijackThis" but feel free to use any name. See here for specific instructions and screen shots to help:
http://russelltexas.com/malware/createhjtfolder.htm
This is to ensure it makes the necessary backups for recovery if needed.
Download HijackThis
http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip
or here
http://castlecops.com/downloads-file-328.html
Unzip the file to the new folder you made and doubleclick on HijackThis.exe to open the program. On the newusers quickstart page, Choose *Do a system scan and save a log*
When the scan finishes, you will get a popup to Save the logfile. Please make note of the location you will be saving it to and click *save*. This should save the file and open the log in Notepad. Copy the contents and post the results here.
Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet. Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.
Additionally, open HijackThis and press the *Open Misc. Tools Section*. Look for the button: "Open Uninstall Manager". Press that and you will be presented with a list of program. Please copy the entire list and post it back here with your HijackThis log. _________________ Microsoft MVP 2003-2008, Windows - Security |

I see one entry that indicates the program may be running (so, the reason it would not let you delete it). We can use HijackThis to stop the program and delete the startup entry, plus some other problems I see there.
Scan with HijackThis and checkmark these entries, then press the *fix checked* button.

Then, see if you can then delete the Babylon folder.
