Hello and welcome to Spyware Warrior forums.
Your co-workers comp is indeed infected, with more than one bit of malware too.
Lets get you started and then once some of the majors are gone, we can clean whats left over.
Your version of HiJackThis is outdated, please click the 'Config' button, on HJT, then click the 'Misc. Tools' buttons and click the 'Check for Updates Online' button for the newest version of HJT, v 1.99.1
Should that fail to work, delete the old version completely, then try this link:
HiJackThis v:1.99.1zip
DL the zip file to your desktop, then create a new folder on your C drive, called 'HJT' or 'HijackThis'. Then unzip the files to the new folder. When you run HijackThis.exe from C:\HJT folder and are instructed to have it "Fixed checked," it will create a backup file of modifications to use if restore is necessary which is easily accessible.
SLIMSHILD
OK, with this infection there is only one way to rid the files in a manner to prevent re-infection, as this will keep regenerating as you keep rebooting.
You need to do a search for files by date created, they should all be on the bottom of the list, all files will be 3 letters in name, and always the first letter a capital. Size of exe is 7.5kb(possibly 9.5, new variant, we think) in size.
Look in system32 and windows folders.
Be sure and check the properties of each file, as there are many legit MS files.
There will also be some html files located in the windows folder as well, they can also be deleted.
Size will be 2-3 kb.
DESKTOP HIJACK
Go to Control Panel > Display. Click on the "Desktop" tab then click the "Customize Desktop" button. Click on the "Web" tab. Under "Web Pages" you should see an entry checked called something like "Security" or similar. Select that entry and click the "Delete" button. Click OK then Apply and OK. That should get rid of it.
Win Tools Win9x removal:
Click 'Start'
Click 'Run'
Type 'msconfig' in empty box and click 'OK'
Click on 'Startup' tab at top.
Scroll down to two Wintools boxes and 'unclick' them.
Click 'apply' at bottom of box.
Then click 'OK'.
That removes it from your startup routine.
Now restart your computer.
Now to delete the file from your hard drive.
Click 'My Computer' Icon.
Click 'C Drive'.
Click 'Program Files'.
Click 'Common Files'.
Right click on WinTools folder, scroll down and click 'delete'.
Please go to Add/Remove, and if found, uninstall the following:
BullsEye Network
search Accellerator
Dashbar
Comet
IChoose
Butterfly Oasis Screensaver
SurfSideKick2
For ease in troubleshooting the HijackThis logs and because some spyware can be easily removed, it's a good idea to first run a good spyware removal program, such as Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy. They need to be updated with their latest reference files before running. Reboot after use to let them remove what they find. This also gives the next app, a 'clean' look at your machine.
Ad-Aware SE
Spybot Search & Destroy v 1.3
With AdAware and Spybot: DL, check for updates, then scan, repair/remove/quarantine anything found. Reboot before next scan with whichever app is next. The reason for running these apps, is to clean up some of the other 'crapware' on your pc, which, in turn, will make deciphering your HJT log, easier.
Your hosts file has been corrupted, please use this
Host File Repair Tool.
Once all the above has been done, please post a new HJT log. _________________

Did as much as I could; didn't understand Go to Control Panel > Display.
We're stuck using "Windows 98" at work, but I didn't see the "Customize Desktop" tab. However, I manually deleted the "desktop.html" file, and, under the "Web" tab of the display-properties box (when you right-click on the desktop, where you can do the wallpaper, screen-saver, etc.), there was nothing, so I think I did what you asked, but in a different way.
Anyway, here's the new HJT log:

Excellent job, you did well.
OK, is the desktop back to normal after removing that file? Let me know please.
You need to run thru the WinTools fix again, it is still present.
The references to OTS_Server, are these work related by chance?
Please head over to either Trend Micro or Panda ActiveScan and do an online, free, full system scan. Be sure and have the 'Auto Clean' button checked.
Trend Micro
Panda ActiveScan
Please go to Add/Remove, and if found, uninstall the following:
Butterfly <<-If this was installed long before infections, ignore all related fixes.
Run Hijackthis and look over the following entries I have listed, check the boxes next to them and press the "Fix Checked" button with HijackThis. When you are doing this, make sure you have No IE windows, or other browsers open, including this one. Reboot if I have specified below, and post a fresh HijackThis log.
