Hi,

During the last few weeks, I have gotten spam from addresses such as; fm gews932@mail3.fundeaLme
ctindo 3103@mail11.sitesafeaLL
zenqb 1883@mail4.fundeaLme
aznbsf 7152@mail14.meetusday
lhghhn 9682@mail16.hihappy
llfwtv 6862@mail33.hihappy
bmlpxz 9171@mail10.sitesafeaLL

When I check them with whois, they all give following result.

Location US, United States
City Burbank, CA 91506
Organization Ubiquity Server Solutions Los Angeles
ISP Nobis Technology Group, LLC
AS Number AS15003 Nobis Technology Group, LLC
Latitude 3417'16" North
Longitude 11832'16" West
Distance 10620.31 km (6599.16 miles

So thats where the spam is coming from, right? Are they known to be hosting spammers?

I've send abuse reports with message headers included to a couple of e-mail addresses that are shown in whois info, got some automated replies. So far thats all.

Spam addresses disabled .... Gary R

Hi Gary R,

Thanks for the reply. I'm not in US, is that "forward your spam to Federal Trade Commission" only for US residents?

Automated replies I got after sending abuse reports contained a link to leaseweb.com abusedesk website, where I could check the status of my notification. Couple of the first abuse reports I sent had a comment like "we have discussed about the issue with our customer (spammer?) and we consider the issue resolved".

Well, I didnt consider the issue resolved, since I still got spam from the above mentioned addresses. I added a comment there.

Whereabouts in the world are you, because I may (or may not) be able to post details of sites similar to the FTC site that are more applicable to non-US residents.

As for the FTC, it primarily has jurisdiction over any spam being generated or received in the US, so if you believe that your spam has a US origin, then I would imagine that you can still report it to them even if you are not a US resident.

Im in Finland. I know that if spammer is Finnish, I could make a complaint to data protection ombudsman at Ministry of Justice. I did that once, when a Finnish spammer included their company street address, phone number, etc in their spam. He/they contacted the spammer.

Makes sense, that also non-US residents could report to FTC, if spam is generated in US.
I could do that, but so far I have not received spam from those addresses anymore.

OK. Well if you get bothered again let me know, and I'll see if I can find any other spam reporting facilities that might be open to you.

Hi,

An update about this issue. I got spam from very similar e-mail address, as those mentioned above. I checked with whois, and its located at Ubiquity Server Solutions Los Angeles, again...

For over two months, I did not get any spam, but now got one. I just sent an abuse report, but If there will be again a dozen or more messages from there, I think I'll make that report to FTC.
