all it appears to do is change the homepage, period...
it doesn't fix any of the causes, it just recommends you to run a virus scan
it would certainly be a waste of $10 _________________ PcPitstop Forums |

Its a complete setup exe that is 4mb in size and shows all the comanies info as should be. They also use element 5 for staging as does Adaware and others who are reputable software. _________________ Wächter der Geschichten:

Hi:
Yes, I've seen this one. I've installed it and nosed around. Can't say I'm too impressed. So far as I can tell, it does not install adware or spyware itself, so it's "safe" in that regard. Still, I can't see how I would ever recommend a 4 mb software program that only fixes browser hijacks (and charges to do it) when there are simpler alternatives that do the job for free.
I doubt it will make the rogue anti-spyware page, though, which is more oriented towards scanners.
Best,

Thanks for the replies, the program certainly looked suspect.
Ad-aware and SpyBot remain my two faves

Only way they will get on my list is if they started advertising on sites that were directly or indirectly supporting adware/spyware, or they start a site to install adware bundles on their own. THEN THEY ARE MINE! The Webhelper takes no prisoners when it comes to that. _________________ Wächter der Geschichten:
