Do you have a favourite browser? Or can't you decide which is the best? Is there anyone who actually likes MS Internet Explorer? I am really into Opera (9.63) at the moment. I find it fast & easy to use. It can be a bit flaky in You Tube sometimes however. I have SeaMonkey as well, so I am OK because SM is really good in that for me.

I use Maxthon 2 (which uses the Internet Explorer engine to display webpages), becuase it works exactly how I want it to:

Everytime I type in an address it the address bar it opens in a new tab - not current one.

New tabs are open right next to the current tab, rather than being added at the end of all other tabs.

I can undo closing the last 16 tabs I closed.

To do a Google search, I just type in what I want to search for in the address bar, and then hold down Alt while I press enter - and a Google search opens in a new tab.

I had to change the settings for the Google searching, but everything else if pretty much the default settings. I'm sure I could setup FireFox to do the same - but I would need additional plugins. And in any case Internet Explorer based browsers have feautures missing from FireFox e.g. rather than automatcally starting downloads - a dialogue box comes which lets mie change the name of the file being downloaded if I want. Also I can choose to just run downloads, rather than savinig them.

I also have Google Chrome which I use every now and then. I also have FireFox installed but I only use it a few times a year.

The one thing I would really like to be changed about Maxtohn - is that like Google Chrome it would open every tab as seperate process, as some times the peak memory usage of Maxthon is very large after having many tabs open so I restart it to free up some RAM.

I have heard a lot about Maxthon & Chrome. I haven't had a look at those yet. I found K-Meleon was not Vista compatible & I wasn't impressed by Sleipnir (only the Japanese could name a browser after an eight legged mythological flying horse) either. I will have to have a look a them. I like SeaMonkey but although I think it is faster than Firefox 3.0.5 it seems to have problems in Vista as well. Primarily that I can't seem to get QuickTime to work so I can listen to a BBC radio 4 feed off my 'My Yahoo!' page. (it works in all my other browsers).

I have looked at all of the plug ins & they look the same as in my other browsers.
