FYI in my INBOX today

Dear sir/madam,

As an existing customer and/or newsletter list member we thought you might like to know that our powerful new anti-rootkit/anti-hook system Deep System Explorer is now into its second public Beta stage, and is available for public download!

The download is fully functional, allowing you to try out all aspects of the program.

See the official Deep System Explorer website for more details:
http://www.diamondcs.com.au/dse/

Thanks for your support!

<font size=2 face="Verdana"><b>What is Deep System Explorer?</b><br></font>
Deep System Explorer (DSE) is an advanced security tool for Windows that has one main objective - to make looking into the deepest levels of your system security as easy as looking at files in Explorer, providing you with as much information as possible, allowing you to easily find many different signs of infection.<br><br>
DSE also aims to provide you the user with as much information about such detections as possible, because we know that when you're fighting an infection you want to know as much as possible about whatever it is that's attacking your system.<br><br>

<font size=2 face="Verdana"><b>What's a rootkit?</b></font><br>
Did you know that rootkits are often more insidious than viruses, embedding themselves deep in the operating system where even very few viruses go, and that many anti-virus scanners have trouble detecting LIVE rootkits?
We've put together a brief guide to <a href="thebasics.php">The Basics</a> of rootkits to help you understand what all the fuss is about!
<br><br>

<font size=2 face="Verdana"><b>Advanced Anti-Rootkit Technologies</b><br></font>
There are still not many anti-rootkit programs available today as this is one of the most difficult aspects of operating system security - rootkits are afterall designed to <i>avoid</i> being detected at the lowest levels.<br><br>
Because DSE wasn't designed exclusively to be an anti-rootkit scanner DSE goes far beyond what is offered by conventional anti-rootkit programs. Its advanced detection techniques can detect
some of the most advanced rootkit &amp; hook-related malware ever created.
<br><br>
The first time you run DSE you will see things about your system that you never knew about before, and if you are infected with a rootkit or something else hooking into your system then DSE will help you quickly track it down.

DiamondCS is a legitimate company. Unless their website was hacked, I don't see how the link could be bad. Looking at the source code of the page, I don't see anything malicious there.

I don't think so, maybe a bit confused about that program/site.

There is a fairly long thread @ Wilder's about DCS and this tool:
http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=185994

The tool comes in at about page 13 or so.

Interesting read about the goings on at DCS.

I've tried to purchase Port Explorer but could never get anything to go thru.

And yes, I'm well aware of other compatible apps, I just like PE better. Wink

Quite a thread
I had TDS-3 always wondered why they did not just sell as EWIDO did- lots of firms could have done something with the technology
Still have Worm Guard on this machine
I have Process Guard and Port Explorer around in the tool box
what's sad is that since they work so good I had no reason to notice Wayne was missing
