| For the drive; open a cmdprompt (or Run) and type - "regsvr32 /i shell32.dll" (without the quotes) |

Hi sorry got it to work and it says it succeeded.
But still cant view drives i still get a long list of programs and it asks me which one i want to open it with .
The only way i can get to look into the C and D drive is right click on start and explore and get to the files that way at the moment .

If you have an original install CD for windows - not a recovery CD you can do a repair install. This should fix the problem.
You can find instructions for this by doing a Google search. |

Hi trace,
Have you resolved this yet?
You recently have a virus/malware on the system?
You wrote about malware your antivirus was finding here:
http://spywarewarrior.com/viewtopic.php?t=27800&highlight=
To which MysteryFCM replied.
I highly suggest you do the instructions laid out in the Hijackthis forum and post a log in that forum.
It is malware or leftovers of malware causing your drive issues.
There would be a couple logs a helper would need to look at to pinpoint the problem.
Good idea also to point your helper to this thread so they can see what issues you desribe having.
Regards,
