Pal Spyware Remover - Review: Don't Try and You shouldn't buy!

Just tested it and it is one that in order to clean the detections you need to pay the 29.95 USD.

Review:

1. Doesn't scan registry
2. Doesn't scan inside of compressed files
3. Site is all ad hype without any real support.
4. Check for update stated it was the current version
5. Found 23 objects.
6. The program looks only for file names that are in its database.

Now, I am known to keep well over 650 objects that even Norton 2004 will only detect 350 of those.

It never picked any of the bi.dll and twaintech.dll transponder variants or its components. I also have almost every NetPalOffers installers as well.

This software IMO is scamware!

Why do they list software as spyware that is not. For example, xmirage.ocx is the MediaForge runtime player similiar to the flash player. I've used it for years and it is not spyware.

try these to clean it out.
Download and install the newest version (1.3) of SpyBot Search and Destroy http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html - Note: If you have been using SpyBot S&D for some time, chances are you have version 1.2. For some unknown reason, the 1.2’s update feature does not alert you to the new version so you must download and install the new from the link above. Also, download and install AdAware http://lavasoft.element5.com/support/download/ - there are free versions of each. Before scanning, use each programs’ update option to get the latest signature files, then scan, using SpyBot first.

a² Free is also a good malware cleaner and can be downloaded from: http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/download/?

Then update your virus scanner and scan your system again or use one of these free on-line scanners (note some spyware has been known to disable PC based AV scanners):

I used PC Tools Spyware Doctor and was shocked by the number of the threads found. I thought maybe they try to scare the user and to force him to buy full version.... Looks like using Linux is more protected method of browsing internet.

This has been on the rogue list for three years.

They also make a registry cleaner which performs very poorly and has not been updated for three years.

I've tested it on march 21 2006.
(Reference File: Ver 1.7 | Released: 20/02/2005、Protection against: 682 )

I created new enmpy text file, and renamed for some malware file's name.
PAL Spyware Remover detected these files as spyware / adware.
The program looks only for file names that are in its database.
Then, your commentary "The program looks only for file names that are in its database." was proved.

But I couldn't reapperance "Found 23 objects".
If any malware was not detected, Pal Spyware Remover had alerted "Warning! Spyware Remover has detected parasites in your PC."

Looks like we got files that seem to also be connected with the Small Trojan and SDbot worms too, nice way to get infected once some of those spyware files lockout security related process and controls which that would re-allow the exploits to download the Storm/Warezov worms too after a good 3 to 5 minutes.

That is a nasty payload of spyware.
