L.L. Bean filed lawsuits Monday against Nordstrom and three other companies it alleges used pop-up ads that appeared when some customers visited the clothier and outdoor gear retailer's Web site.

By creating ads that appear when Internet users visit L.L. Bean's Web site, retailers Nordstrom, J.C. Penney, Atkins and Gevalia have traded on the company's name and infringed on its trademark rights, said Mary Lou Kelley, vice president for E-commerce at L.L. Bean.

Alright L.L. Bean! haha I'm gonna go up there now and Buy some boots to thank them! or maybe a kayak...ooo kayak.

Either way, I'm glad someone's sueing, and I'm glad its a big company, so it has more pull than one of us little guys filing a lawsuit.

DeleterFX, I wrote them a very nice letter (www.llbean.com for contact information) and they answered it with a very nice email Very Happy

I thanked them for taking action against Claria and they told me how much they appreciated my support of their decision. We should all send them a note letting them know the masses are behind them! I told them I would be shopping with them in the future because of their stance against spyware and adware Very Happy
