Just checking to see if there has been any update on eBlocs. Are they still considered "rogue" even though 6.0 seems to be an improvement over previous versions?

| I tested version 6.0 a while back and if that was an improvement over the preceeding then the earlier must have really been terrible. |

|

Please, do all of us a favor... DO NOT take them off Rouge status.
First, let me tell you I am a highly experienced geek... I do no fooling around with installs or software that I have not fully checked out with reputable sources.
How did I get their software, you might ask? I was trying to download a new/updated copy of EZTrust's virus software (office's choice for security, not mine). I paid for the subscription, and clicked to continue my order - I was buying a "downloadable" copy. The Install window poped up, as expected, and I downloaded and installed. Well, you can imagine my suprise when I realized this was NOT the software I ordered!!
I have had the WORST time trying to get rid of their software. I am unable to "uninstall" their program without purchasing their software, I cannot talk to their tech support without registering and providing an emial on thier site, and I can't unistall otherwise without hours of HighjackThis and system reboots in SafeMode.
I am unhappy, to say the least. I have seriously considered chucking my computer into the fireplace, but I really like my fireplace, so I haven't.
Just my 2 cents.

I posted my HJT log on the Spyware/Malware forum last night. Aquais, are you asking me to post it to a the HJT forum instead?
Wyrmrider, I will look into the programs you suggested. Thank you.
I am not backed up and my Windows XP is not up to SP2. I was going to SP2 after a full backup was done. My Firewire drive died sometime since my last backup, and I just got a replacement - hadn't used it yet - UGH!. Guess I waited just a little too long, huh?

where you posted should work fine
do not double post
let us know how it goes
hopefully all is well but if you get additional hits...
do NOT reply or bump your post in the malware forum
they will think a helper has answered your question
there is a 72 hour bump forum for that kind of thing
additional information
etc
